Katie is the newest host of SoCal WienerFest, but a proud WeenFest regular from day one. She’s been attending since the very first year and has volunteered for most of them, so stepping up as host feels like coming home for her.
Katie grew up in the Pasadena area and has always loved being part of this amazing Southern California community. She spent countless New Year’s mornings at the Rose Parade and many afternoons cheering at the Rose Bowl…so bringing people together for tradition and fun is kind of her thing!
By day, Katie works in special education and has spent over 30 years supporting neurodiverse kids. It’s work that fills her heart and keeps her on her toes.
Katie’s wiener dog adventures started on Instagram back in 2013 with her original black-and-tan duo, Jack and Emma. That’s how she connected with some of the OG WienerFest crew, and the rest is history!
These days, Katie is mom to her two sausages and one cat: Brandy (7), Ringo (6), and Meow-Meow (1). While the cat holds down the fort at home, the dogs love camping trips and bike rides with their parents — Katie and her husband of 25 years. She has one daughter, five stepkids, and four grandkids.
Katie is so glad to be here and part of this wonderful SoCal Wienerfest family.
